Flush Twice, It's a Long Way to the Cafeteria...

Dad said this quite a bit when I was growing up, and I've heard it quite often as an adult as well - I never really put that much thought into it's meaning until last week. One of Dad's university friends "Benton" used this expression, and I think dad adopted it, or the other way around.

So after some thought, here's my take on it - this expression is used when someone isn't being completely truthful, as if what they are saying could be better suited to a toilet - it may also be a reflection of the quality of food at St. FX - or any cafeteria for that matter, and since it's rumoured that 85% of what is served at a cafeteria is of unknown origin - maybe we've cleared up 15 or 20 % of that mystery???

Anywho - on a personal note, I've always thought Cafeteria's got a bum rap - I love Cafeteria food, but then again I'm a big fan of airline food and Chef Boy-r-dee - so really who am I to say.

It's Thursday Morning and the weekend looms large, Rugby on Friday Night (IRONMEN Vs. LOYALISTS - 5:30 pm Kickoff at Loyalist Park), Karen's baby Shower on Saturday in Moncton, and Sunday to ourselves (although there is a STU alumni Game at the clubhouse at 2pm) -

Sophie is going to be 6 months old on Saturday as well - exciting times

Thank you. My dad always said “Flush twice, it’s a long way to McDonald’s”
